The Justrite Sure-GripÆ EX Piggyback Safety cabinet with self close doors (model 891720) is designed for the storage and segregation of flammable liquids in lab, construction, or engineering settings.
With exterior dimensions of 24 height x 43 width x 18 In.
Depth (610 height x 1092 width x 457 mm depth, its low-height design allows you to expand available storage by 17 gallon (64 l) without taking up valuable floor space.
Use independently on bench tops or stack on top of 30 or 45 gal (114/170 l) Justrite safety cabinets.
It can also be mounted on a wall with an optional wall hanger assembly (model 25950).
This yellow model is constructed with a sturdy 18-gauge (1 mm) thick steel double-wall, with 1.5 In. (38 mm) of insulating air space for fire resistance.
The fully welded, not riveted, construction holds the squareness of the unit for a longer life and offers greater protection in a fire since air gaps are reduced.
High-performance, self-closing doors open to a full 180 degrees.
A patented, concealed self-close mechanism provides obstruction-free access to shelf space.
The doors self-index to guarantee they will close in tightly sequence.
Continuous piano hinges ensure the doors close smoothly every time.
When used properly as designed, safety cabinets with self-closing doors shut automatically in case of a fire.
The self-closing doors, under tension, are held open by using fusible links.
Under fire conditions, when the ambient temperature reaches 165 F (74 C), the links melt and the safety cabinet's self-closing doors automatically swing shut.
The self-latching system engages with three stainless steel bullet-slams located at the top, bottom, and center locations of the door.
